Career Progression at Strada Care
Success Story Case Study with Hannah Deen Swarray
At Strada Care, we organised how we support our clients into a range of categories including life skills, daily task, hobbies etc. Our skilled team works with a range of client groups with various learning, mental conditions, physical conditions or disabilities. This includes clients of all ages, ethnicities, and past experiences.
We are proud of both our House Managers who worked their way up from Support Worker roles. Both had contrasting career paths before they came to work at Strada Care.
“Strada Care is proud to be working ever closer with East Surrey College on projects with both our client group, and their Health and Social Care department for career opportunities and staff development.”
This article looks at Hannah Deen Swarray, one of our current House Managers, who found that her career pathway at Strada Care developed key skills. Through encouragement to further hone her leadership abilities alongside a range of training provided by Strada Care, Hannah progressed to Senior Support Worker, Team Leader and is now a House Manager at Strada Care.
A few words from Hannah Deen Swarray – Strada Care House Manager
“I actually studied for a BA in Business Management, specialising in Human Resources. As specialism that would eventually come in handy later!
After growing up in Sierra Leone, I moved to the UK for better career opportunities. After my degree, and following a brief spell in hairdressing, I decided to work in Health and Social Care setting over the next 7 years , supporting many amazing people, some with mental health conditions and dementia, before joining Strada Care in 2012.
My new client group at Strada Care was adults with learning disabilities and autism, all of whom had spent most of their lives in institutional care, but now given the opportunity to live in the community in supported living.
I’ve enjoyed learning and training.
With encouragement, I was persuaded to step up to Team Leader and more recently proud to have moved up to a House Manager role for two houses, with 3 and 5 lovely tenants, supporting throughout their lives towards happiness and wellbeing. The support from management has been there throughout and I have now worked at five houses within the group, being able to implement and develop my skills and learning. A group with such varying abilities, needs and ages . I enjoy working with relatives and in partnership with health care professionals.
Working in the field has been such an eye-opener, and I have learned so much, developing other qualities like patience, empathy, and team work – all through hard work!”
A few words from Reza Shamtally – Strada Care Managing Director

Key strengths: proven record of supporting clients to progress in managing their respective challenges. She is hard working and always ready to roll up her sleeves and support her clients on the front line. She is always positive and encourages independence wherever possible.”
